ACADEMIC PROGRAM
The Preschool
Department offers Nursery, Kinder 1 and Kinder 2 Classes. Here, teachers fully understand the importance of holistic and play-centered education as they are highly trained in the area of Child Development and are consistently attending training programs and workshops on different teaching approaches for preschoolers.
The Preschool Program of SSA focuses on the nature and needs of the learners as well as their society and culture. Hence, it offers great, exciting and multi-sensory experiences that will help develop their skills, ideas and attitudes which are essential in dealing with life situations. The program commits to offer a thematic approach to learning, integrating the curriculum through varied interests to promote social and emotional growth, physical progress, language and literacy development, mathematics and reasoning skills acquisition, creativity, as well as values formation.
GRADE SCHOOL
The Grade School Department is Level II PAASCU accredited. Its subject offerings are CL/GMRC, English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science, Araling Panlipunan, MAPEH, Home Economics and Livelihood Education, Writing, Mother Tongue, and Computer. It also offers daily Character Connection Classes geared at reinforcing the school’s vision, mission, core values, and institutional goals that will help pupils thrive both in school and in life.
Opportunity Classes are held once a week (from Grades 1 to 6) to help students who are academically challenged in coping with their lessons. This is held concurrently with Life Skills Training (from grades 4 to 6 only) given to students who are not under opportunity classes.
Pupils in the Grade School are also able to learn how to play the following musical instruments: lyre, musical recorder, melodica, and guitar through its Applied Music Program.
JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
The Junior High School Department (Grades 7 to 10) is Level III PAASCU Accredited. Curriculum content is implemented through an integrated scheme aligning the subject areas according to basic thinking and communication skills as well as positive values and attitudes. Subject offerings are as follows: CL/VE, Filipino, English, Mathematics, Science, Araling Panlipunan, MAPEH, Technology and Livelihood Education, and Computer with electives in Bookkeeping, Drafting, and Foreign Language (Nihonggo).
It also offers daily Character Connection Classes geared at reinforcing the school’s vision, mission, core values, and institutional goals that will help students thrive both in school and in life. Remediation is held once a week (in the Grade 7 and 8 levels) to help students who are academically challenged in coping with their lessons. Other students are given reinforcement through Peer Tutorials facilitated by the Student Government before major examinations.
Grade 10 students are likewise enjoined to take part in the BSP and GSP with the goal of preparing them in becoming agents of positive change consistent with the school’s dictum of developing individuals with wisdom and virtues. As a co-curricular program, it is hoped that through imbibing a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, Anthonians will be contributory in helping build a better world of self-fulfilled, constructive, and active citizens.
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
The Senior High School Department (Grades 11 to 12), on the other hand, offers the following strands: Accountancy and Business Management (ABM); Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), and Information and Communications Technology (ICT). The first three strands are under the Academic Track while the last strand offering is under the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Track.
The Core Curriculum Subjects offered in Senior High School (SHS) are as follows: Oral Communication, Reading and Writing, Komunikasyon at Pananaliksik sa Wika at Kulturang Filipino, Pagbasa at Pagsusuri ng Iba’t Ibang Texto Tungo sa Pananaliksik, 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World, Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions, Media and Information Literacy, General Mathematics, Statistics and Probability, Physical Science, Introduction to Philosophy of the Human Person, Physical Education and Health, Personal Development, Understanding Culture, Society, and Politics, Earth Science (Earth and Life Science for STEM), and Physical Science (Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction for STEM). Strand specific Applied Track Subjects and Specialized Subjects are also offered to SHS students with opportunities for Work Immersion by Grade 12.
